MISSION STATEMENT

ZRK aims to promote the field of risk, security and crisis management from an interdisciplinary perspective for science, business, education and research.

Promotion of risk, security and crisis management (nationally & internationally) and influencing the consistent application of the recognised state of science and technology;

Promotion of interdisciplinary research and development in the field of risk, security and crisis management;

Promotion of professional education and further training in accordance with the "state of the art" in the above-mentioned subject area;

Promotion and support of broad public relations work to communicate findings and experiences in risk, security and crisis management (nationally & internationally);

Promotion of content-related, scientific and application-oriented cooperation between the CRC and other Austrian and international universities, colleges and technical schools, as well as non-university institutions, organisations and companies;

Promotion and initiation of a security policy "Think Tank" addressing the complexity and interrelationships between Societal Security - Economical Security - Environmental Security - Political Security - Public Security and Cyber Security;

Promotion and initiation of security policy consultancy;

Promotion and initiation of a "Risk and Security CLUSTER" for business and science in Austria and the European Union for the development of corresponding consumer and capital goods that align with the remit of this association, in both the narrower and broader sense.

ZRK is the leading quality-assured international risk and crisis management competence centre for education and research at university-equivalent and non-university level, as well as excellence in Consulting & Operation for innovative and evidence-based organisational development, leadership and governance.

ZRK operates under the principles of a Code of Conduct based on the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and other internationally recognised ethical principles under international law.

ZRK serves as at least a cooperation platform for national and international universities, colleges and technical schools, as well as non-university institutions, organisations and companies, and can be shaped and utilised by these to address the subject area holistically in all its complexity.

ZRK will bring together executives and specialists/experts working in this field, as well as national and international organisations (profit and non-profit organisations), in order to work jointly with association members to

• generate knowledge through research and development,
• impart knowledge through education (initial, continuing & further training),
• make knowledge applicable and apply it through operational implementation (Operation & Consulting).

ZRK strives to initiate, organise, develop, operate and represent this knowledge in the relevant subject areas in order to support innovative and evidence-based strategic organisational development, leadership and governance, as well as product development for consumer and capital goods.
