Competence centre

CCCNC ICT-CYBER Network Cluster

The Competence Centre sees itself as a hub between business, politics and institutions on one hand, and research and teaching on the other, with the aim of developing a comprehensive and holistic view of the ICT/CYBER domain in relation to corporate supply chain security, as well as the substantive, structural and procedural interdependencies and interactions with national, supranational and global supply chain networks (strategic [critical infrastructures] infrastructures).

Within the dynamic interplay of globalisation, digitalisation and automation, the focus lies on a holistic examination of the vulnerability of the supply chain and its networks (basic, utility and public administration networks) to a multitude of existing and future ICT/CYBER event scenarios that may lead to disruptions and bottlenecks in regional, national and supranational supply.

The Competence Centre promotes discussion and development of a comprehensive and holistic security policy cyber security perspective, the development of CYBER product and service solutions-particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)-together and in cooperation with the ZRK-ICT/Cyber Network & Cooperation Cluster of ICT/CYBER product and service providers in the D-A-CH region, guided by the philosophy: "From entrepreneurs-for entrepreneurs".

The aim of this Competence Centre is therefore also to create fundamental concepts and innovations for enhancing resilience and practical proposals for advancing ICT/CYBER security in relation to supply chain security for businesses.

Within the dynamic interplay of, for example, discovering, shaping and economising the CYBER domain, as well as digitalisation and automation, the focus is on holistic examination and the development of strategies for risk reduction and resilience design.

The tasks of the Competence Centre include:

  • Positioning the Competence Centre as a visible, accessible, reliable and credible source of information on ICT/CYBER security in the context of a comprehensive approach for strategic infrastructures and supply chain networks
  • Methodology development for monitoring and analysis of strategic vulnerabilities, as well as development of resilience strategies in designated priority areas
  • Identifying (new) technologies and behavioural approaches, as well as initiating and evaluating innovative CYBER product and service development
  • Identifying and disseminating best practice (scientifically and practically tested) tools and solutions-with corresponding maturity levels-as well as researching, publishing and organising/participating in congresses, symposia, seminars and the "Science Cloud"
  • Building the cluster for ICT/CYBER products and services for businesses, and particularly for SMEs in the D-A-CH region.
  • Founding and establishing the cooperative ZRK CYBER Relief Organisation as a new response organisation for businesses-particularly for SMEs-and private households in the D-A-CH region.

Building an ICT/CYBER education, training and continuing professional development network for businesses-particularly for SMEs in the D-A-CH region-and private households.
