CCNCB Network Cluster EDUCATION

The Competence Centre positions itself as an education, training and professional development hub for business, politics and institutions on the one hand, and research and teaching on the other, with the aim of developing a comprehensive and holistic perspective in the areas of leadership, strategy, innovation and risk management for decision-makers, future decision-makers, executives and their advisory staff in organisational and institutional staff units. The primary objective of this CCNCB is to promote professional education, training and continuing professional development in accordance with the "state of the art" in the aforementioned subject areas.

In the context of globalisation, digitalisation, automation, climate change, skills shortages across more or less all industries/sectors, resilient supply chains, circular economy-oriented business models and initiatives, and the emerging commercialisation of space on the one hand, and comprehensive security requirements encompassing economic security, environmental security, societal security, political security, space security, cyber security and public security on the other, non-academic and academic education, training and professional development is challenged more than ever to support the development of strategies for risk reduction and resilience design for a [resilient] economy.

The Competence Centre promotes discussion and development of a comprehensive and holistic educational policy perspective, the development of EDUCATION products and service solutions-particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and their employees, at least within the D-A-CH region.

The objectives of the COMPETENCE CENTRE: Network Cluster EDUCATION are:

  • Establishment of an extra-university educational institution for academic and non-academic education, training and professional development products in the D-A-CH and European region,
  • Development of a European competence and innovation centre for senior and top-level executive and emerging leader education in leadership, strategy, innovation and risk management,
  • Further development of the research network with universities and comparable university-equivalent research and educational institutions-nationally and internationally,
  • Application and advancement of educational standards-fundamentally-at university level,
  • Advancement of leadership education, training and professional development in the context of national, European and international business and educational landscapes, with particular consideration of the European and national qualifications frameworks-and based on the Bologna architecture,
  • Promotion and co-design of education for decision-makers and executives, taking into account potential collaboration with other national, European or international educational institutions (e.g. via Erasmus and other international options),
  • Establishment and recognition as an accredited examination centre for person- and/or organisation-related educational certificates within the European, D-A-CH and national educational landscape,
  • Development and operation of a European or at minimum D-A-CH-focused knowledge management platform for education and an associated research platform,
  • Development and implementation of security policy-relevant international education at the highest level (UN, EU, etc.), as well as
  • Establishment of a cooperative research and development institute-regarding content and relevant research areas-in cooperation with external educational and research institutions for the benefit of SMEs in the D-A-CH region.

The objective of this Competence Centre is therefore also to create fundamental concepts, innovations and research contributions for enhancing resilience, as well as practical proposals for advancing HC competencies for enterprises, particularly for SMEs.

The tasks of the Competence Centre include:

  • positioning the Competence Centre as a visible, accessible, reliable and credible source for knowledge development, transfer and publication in the education and research subject areas: leadership, strategy, innovation and risk management in the context of a comprehensive approach for decision-makers and executives,
  • initiating and establishing a platform economy-based education, training and professional development platform and network for enterprises in the areas of leadership, strategy, innovation and risk management, particularly for SMEs in the D-A-CH region,
  • initiating and establishing an associated company to operate this platform economy-based education, training and professional development platform and network for enterprises,
  • developing concepts, models, methods and tools for monitoring strategic human resources & knowledge development and assessment, as well as developing resilience strategies in designated priority areas-particularly for SMEs,
  • identifying (new) technologies and behavioural approaches, as well as initiating and evaluating innovative human resources & knowledge development products and services-and promoting and developing such innovations,
  • identifying and disseminating best practice (scientifically and practically tested) tools and solutions-with corresponding maturity levels-as well as researching, publishing and organising/participating in congresses, symposia, seminars and the "Science Cloud",
  • establishing a skilled workforce cluster for enterprises, particularly for SMEs in the D-A-CH region, where corresponding skills shortages and competency gaps exist.
